Poland’s retail sector accelerated sharply in June 2026, with sales rising 6.8% year-on-year, more than double the 3.0% annual growth recorded in May. The latest figures, updated on 22 July 2026, indicate a notable strengthening in consumer activity as the middle of the year approached.
The data are compiled on a year-over-year basis, comparing each month with the same month a year earlier. May’s 3.0% print reflected a moderate increase versus May of the previous year, while June’s 6.8% gain underscores a much stronger expansion compared with June a year ago.
The step-up from May to June suggests improved momentum in consumer demand, an important component of overall economic performance. Analysts will now be watching whether this pace can be sustained in the coming months or if June marks a temporary spike in spending.
