SGS Group (SGSOY.PK), a Swiss-based leader in inspection, verification, testing, and certification, announced on Monday that it will retain its Crop Science Operations. The decision follows the company's choice to exercise its right to terminate the agreement with Eurofins Scientific.
In December 2023, SGS had entered into an agreement to divest its crop science operations to Eurofins Scientific (ERFSF.PK), a global leader in analytical testing and laboratory services.
SGS stated that despite concerted efforts from both parties, all closing conditions were not met by the agreed long stop date.
