In February 2025, Romania's current account deficit expanded significantly to EUR 3.179 million, a considerable increase from the previous year's figure of EUR 1.170 million for the same month. The deficit in the goods account rose to EUR 2.024 million, up from EUR 1.073 million in February 2024. Simultaneously, the surplus in the services account saw a decrease, falling to EUR 0.706 million from EUR 1.080 million. Furthermore, the shortfall in primary income notably grew to EUR 1.155 million, compared to EUR 0.458 million the previous year. Evaluating the initial two months of 2025, Romania accumulated a current account deficit totaling EUR 4.809 million.
