FX.co ★ Slovakia Industrial Output Near 3-Year Low

In August 2025, Slovakia's industrial production experienced a substantial decline of 6.3% compared to the previous year, falling short of market predictions which anticipated a 3.1% decrease. This downturn followed a 4.6% reduction in July, marking the most significant contraction in industrial activity since December 2022. The manufacturing sector saw a further decline, with output decreasing by 4.9% as opposed to July's 2.7% drop. Conversely, the rates of decline in other sectors showed a slower trend: mining and quarrying fell by 11% compared to 14.4% previously, and the electricity, gas, and air conditioning sector experienced a slight reduction from 17.6% to 17.4%. Despite these annual declines, industrial activity showed minimal growth on a month-to-month basis, registering a 0.1% increase in seasonally adjusted terms in August.
