Swiss Annual Inflation Eases Slightly to 0.4% in July

Switzerland’s consumer price inflation slowed marginally in July 2026, with the year-over-year Consumer Price Index (CPI) reading coming in at 0.4%, down from 0.5% in June 2026. The latest data, updated on 3 August 2026, indicate that price pressures remain subdued, reinforcing Switzerland’s status as a low-inflation environment.

Both the current and previous readings are measured on a year-over-year basis, comparing each month’s price level to the same month a year earlier. The June figure reflected a 0.5% increase versus June of the prior year, while July’s 0.4% reading shows a slightly softer pace of annual price growth compared with July a year ago.

The modest easing in inflation may be closely monitored by investors and policymakers as it can influence expectations for monetary policy, real interest rates, and broader economic conditions in Switzerland, even as overall inflation remains well below levels seen in many other advanced economies.
