Japan’s government approved regulations for creation an international LNG (liquefied natural gas) trading hub.
Japan is the largest liquefied natural gas consumer therefore the LNG Exchange creation is economically viable. The Economy Ministry supposes that Japan should commit itself to the role of the world’s leader in LNG industry.
Japan’s trade minister Motoo Hayashi says that they will open access to LNG Exchange by 2020.
The Minister underlined that the main principles of their policy will be government non-interference into trading processes and flexibility of market participants. Moreover, to ensure successful LNG Exchange functioning, Japan’s government plans to expand LNG infrastructure in different countries to ensure further sales growth.
