Ukraine’s media sources reported that the Ukrainian government acquired 100 percent of Privatbank’s shares. The procedure of bank nationalization was carried out by the Deposit insurance fund and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
Now Ukrainian PrivatBank is fully owned by the state. The Ministry of Finance announced plans to nationalize PrivatBank a day earlier.
After the announcement, the bank's clients cashed a record $80 million within a day. Analysts believe that the majority of Privatbank clients were quite skeptical about this deal.
