An anonymous bidder paid $2.6 million for an opportunity to have lunch with Warren Buffett, one of the world’s richest people.
The auction was held on April 9. Last year a lunch with the billionaire was estimated at $3.456 million. Mr Buffett himself determines the conditions for a meeting. Any topics are allowed for discussion except for investment plans.
The famous American investor auctions off the right to share a meal with him for the 18th time in a row. The proceeds from auctions are used to help homeless people from San Francisco. In total, Warren Buffett donated about $25 million to Glide Foundation. This charity organization provides homeless and indigent people with food and medical aid, builds shelters, and offers them professional training.
Warren Buffett, or Wizard of Omaha as people call him, is the world’s richest investor. His fortune is estimated at $76.2 billion according to Forbes.
