Eric Yuan, the founder of Zoom video conference company, has seen a rapid rise in his wealth lately. The demand for the virtual-meeting app soared during the lockdown as many businesses turned to the service to work remotely. Eric Yuan’s net worth skyrocketed by $5.2 billion, thus lifting the CEO’s fortune to almost $22 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Zoom shares have been on the rise throughout the whole summer and rallied by 32% after the company had reported record quarterly earnings. Zoom said its revenue during the second quarter jumped by an unprecedented 355% with a net profit of almost $186 billion. Zoom online conferencing became extremely popular during the quarantine. At the same time, the number of Zoom active users increased by 458% from last year and totaled 370,200 companies. To sum up, Zoom has greatly benefited from the coronavirus pandemic along with other tech giants, including Tesla and Amazon.
