Analysts at JPMorgan predict the victory of current US President Donald Trump. They even advise investors to adjust their trading strategy for re-election.
Strategist Marko Kolanovic has recently said that earlier, Trump was well behind his challenger Joe Biden, but now, they are nearly even.
According to public opinion, the incumbent president is coping quite well with the protests, coronavirus spread, and economic problems. Moreover, due to the efforts of Donald Trump’s team, more and more people support the idea that protests have turned from peaceful to violent. That is why Marko Kolanovic supposes that investors should prepare for rising odds of Trump’s victory.
“Certainly, a lot can happen in the next ~60 days to change the odds, but we currently believe that momentum in favor of Trump will continue, while most investors are still positioned for a Biden win,” Kolanovic said. He also added that the chances of both candidates had significantly changed since the beginning of the election campaign.
The situation evokes memories of the 2016 election when such tallies seemed to favor Hillary Clinton strongly. She won the popular vote by several millions. However, the Electoral College determined the election outcome in Trump’s favor.
