Tesla is expected to deliver an impressive number of cars to the global electric vehicle market. According to Tesla’s chief Elon Musk, the company plans to make and sell as many electric vehicles as possible in the third quarter of 2020.
In order to meet such ambitious goals, Tesla's executives are urging employees to increase production and hit an all-time quarterly record for electric vehicle deliveries. The company’s management is planning to accelerate the daily vehicle production rate to accomplish the goal. Elon Musk also underlined that it was extremely important to keep factory output as high as possible.
Coronavirus disruptions affected Tesla as any other company. The electric vehicle maker had to halt production from the end of March to the beginning of May 2020. Tesla managed to revive its business hit by COVID-19 only in the early autumn.
According to Harry Black, a former Wall Street analyst, Tesla is going to deliver 144,000 electric vehicles in July-September 2020. The expert is sure that Tesla will be able not only to increase electric vehicle sells but will also see another spike in the company’s shares. Last time, Tesla delivered a record 112,000 vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2019.
The company made 90,650 electric cars in the second quarter of 2020, beating experts’ estimates. Even the suspension of production in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic did not stop Tesla from setting new records.
