The coronavirus is still raging across the world. Currently, the epidemiological situation is rather ambiguous. On the one hand, the spread of coronavirus has decreased compared to the recent anti-record logged in many countries. On the other hand, many countries have re-imposed quarantine measures.
Germany, the UK, and France have already introduced restrictions. Other European countries are considering such a possibility. Curiously enough, only in China, such problems are not even on the agenda. According to official data, there may be only 24 new cases per day in China with 21 people coming from abroad. Given the lower rate of new cases and a more stable epidemiological situation, China’s government has decided to benefit from it. For instance, the country uses COVID-19 as a cover when it needs to quickly restrict the import of certain goods. Under the guise of sanitary standards and concern for the health of their own citizens, Beijing may ban competing imported goods such as salmon from Russia or agricultural products from the United States and Europe. Apparently, China is pursuing its own purely commercial interests.
Meanwhile, the situation with the pandemic is rather worrisome. The epicenter of the pandemic moved from North and South America to Europe again. World Health Organization (WHO) head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus went into self-isolation after a contact with a COVID-19 carrier.
