Despite all the remarkable achievements of SpaceX, Elon Musk is not the only space explorer.
Today, there are enough enthusiasts on this planet willing to conquer the Galaxy. Billionaire Richard Branson is one of them. His company, Virgin Galactic Holdings, is actively promoting tourist trips into outer space.
Another successful launch of Virgin Galactic’s space plane from a spaceport in New Mexico has been positive for its stock. The price has grown exponentially since the announcement of a successful flight. A strong bullish momentum came after the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) granted Virgin Galactic a license to fly passengers into space.
“Today’s flight showcased the inherent elegance and safety of our spaceflight system, while marking a major step forward for both Virgin Galactic and human spaceflight in New Mexico. Space travel is a bold and adventurous endeavor, and I am incredibly proud of our talented team for making the dream of private space travel a reality. We will immediately begin processing the data gained from this successful test flight, and we look forward to sharing news on our next planned milestone,” Chief Executive Officer of Virgin Galactic Michael Colglazier said.
During a flight, space tourists will see the Earth from an altitude of 100 km and experience weightlessness for several minutes. Virgin Galactic's ticket to the edge of space will cost as much as $250,000. According to the company’s spokesperson, more than 600 people have already reserved a seat aboard Virgin Galactic's spacecraft.
