Elon Musk is an eccentric and forward-looking individual. His successful business model built for Tesla has brought him wild recognition among big market players. Therefore, it is not surprising that many of them are willing to challenge Musk. Curiously enough, they are not creating anything new. They more or less follow the path trodden by Mr. Musk long ago.
For instance, car company VinFast, which is owned by the richest man in Vietnam, Pham Nat Vyong, is going to challenge Tesla and dethrone it as the leading electric car company. This is a very ambitious goal as Pham Nat Vyong did not invent a car using a new type of fuel or launch his own payment system. He also did not send a mission to Mars. He just started making electric cars like Elon Musk. What is more,VinFast can hardly be called a pioneer of the electric car industry as it did not bring any developments to it. Tesla has always been a worldwide talk because of its sleek, modern design. Besides, Tesla’s high car performance has caught attention across the segment. At the same time, VinFast first began delivering gasoline autos to Vietnamese consumers in 2019. Now, the Vietnamese manufacturer is preparing to challenge Tesla. It will introduce cars in the United States and Europe next year. To prepare for the global launch, the company has already opened branches in the US, Canada, France, Germany, and the Netherlands.
VinFast is striving to become one of the world leaders in the production of electric vehicles. It even started hiring top managers from the largest representatives of the car market, including Tesla, BMW, Porsche, Toyota, and Nissan. For example, Jeremy Snyder, the chief growth officer for VinFast US, has been the former head of global business development at Tesla for more than 10 years. "With smart electric cars backed by VinFast's proven research and production capabilities, we are confident that VinFast can be a competitive contender with leading brands in the US today," Jeremy Snyder said.
