According to a survey conducted in the US, an average American pensioner wants to retire with at least $1.27 million for a comfortable retirement. Northwestern Mutual surveyed 2,740 Americans between February and March 2023. Among those surveyed, people at the age of 50 said that they would be good with savings of $1.5 million, while US residents aged 60-70 years stated that $950,000 would be enough for their retirement. The survey reads that Americans want their savings to be higher after retirement against the background of accelerating inflation. At the same time, the average amount citizens save for retirement increased by 3% to $89,300 from $86,869 in 2022.
