In February, Kia America reported a sale of 59,059 units, a slight decrease from the 60,859 units sold in the same month of the previous year. Yet, the sales of the company's new electric vehicle (EV) models rose impressively by 65 percent year-over-year. The firm also emphasized that its robust SUVs, overwhelmingly responsible for the 76 percent of total sales recorded in February, experienced a 6 percent rise in sales compared to the previous year.
Eric Watson, the Vice President of Sales Operations at Kia America, sheds light on the situation: "With our unveiling of the updated Carnival and K5 models at the Chicago Auto Show, along with the commercial hype around our next-level all-electric EV9 SUV, we expect our rate of growth to surpass the industry average. We believe that as Kia continues to introduce models and cater to vehicle segment preferences consumers are particularly excited about, our success will surge."
