Economic confidence in the Czech Republic saw a significant rise in April, reaching its peak in a year, according to survey findings from the Czech Statistical Office released this Wednesday.
The Economic Sentiment Index ascended to 97.0 in April, a notable increase from its 94.2 standing in March.
This is the greatest value recorded since April 2023 when it stood at 97.5.
Similarly, business sentiment reflected an upward trend, with the index soaring to 95.6 from 93.0 in just a month. The Industrial Confidence Index also witnessed an upward shift, rising to 92.5 from 88.9, while, contrarily, the sentiment in trade dipped slightly to 92.7 from its previous value of 93.0.
April also brought about robust reinforcement in consumer confidence. The sentiment index shot up to a 31-month high of 103.8 from its former 99.9. The number of individuals foreseeing a slump in the overall economic situation in the upcoming year decreased for the fourth consecutive month.
