The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a series of recalls covering utility vehicles (UTVs), snowmobiles, electric wall ovens, spin swivel chairs, toy pinwheels, and children's nightgowns due to diverse concerns.
Georgia-based company Textron Specialized Vehicles has issued recalls for its Prowler Pro and Tracker UTVs due to fire risks, as well as for its 2024 Model Year Arctic Cat Catalyst Snowmobiles due to crash risks.
Reno, Nevada-based ZLINE Kitchen and Bath is recalling its Built-In Electric Wall Ovens because of a potential hazard causing impact injuries. In addition, Canada's Trademango Solutions Inc., also known as Article, is recalling its Spin Swivel Chairs due to risk of falling.
The list of recalls also encompasses toy pinwheels provided by Cotton On USA based in La Mirada, California, which present a choking hazard. Nightgowns for children, sold solely on Amazon.com by China's Zegoo Home, have been recalled due to a burn risk and for not meeting federal flammability standards.
Consumers are urged to immediately cease using the affected merchandise and reach out to the manufacturing company for a free repair, replacement or potentially a refund, dependent on the item in question. However, no refund or replacement will be offered for toy pinwheels as these were supplied for free.
About 10,300 units of Textron's Prowler Pro and Tracker 800SX UTVs are being recalled, with an additional 1,000 affected units sold in Canada. These utility vehicles, available in a variety of colors, were sold nationwide and range in price from $14,000 to $22,000. The company has received 48 reports of fuel leakage due to an ill-fitting fuel tank cap, which poses a fire hazard. No injuries have been reported thus far.
Approximately 2,670 units of Textron's Arctic Cat 2024 Catalyst 600 snowmobiles have also been recalled, with 891 additional units sold in Canada. The company has received 95 reports of steering cap cracks that may lead to unstable handlebars, potentially causing a crash. No related injuries have been reported.
ZLINE is recalling around 5,000 units of their single-door and double-door built-in electric wall ovens. These ovens, sold between December 2020 and September 2022, have been reported to possess a door hinge that can dislodge, leading to an impact injury risk. Ninety-five incidents have been reported with one minor injury.
Article's recall includes roughly 4,500 units of their Spin Swivel Chairs, with an additional 140 units sold in Canada. The base of these swivel chairs can break, presenting a fall hazard. The company has received 190 reports of such incidents, with no injuries reported.
Finally, Cotton On USA's toy pinwheels have been recalled due to a choking hazard. These toys were distributed for free, hence no refunds or replacements will be offered.Cotton On USA has issued a recall for approximately 8,500 units of multi-colored toy pinwheels, displayed with "KIDS" and "COTTON ON" written in white. These items, manufactured in China, were issued freely as promotional gifts at multiple Cotton On Kids stores from April 2023 through January 2024. Due to a risk of the fastener cap coming loose and causing a potential choking hazard, the company has taken this preventative step. One incident has been reported where a child swallowed a loosened fastener cap.
In other news, China's Zegoo Home is recalling about 14,000 units of Zegoo-branded children's nightgowns, which are made from 100% cotton and sold in light pink, pink, and blue variants. These short-sleeved nightgowns that bear a double-lace layer at the collar with a small ribbon bow were retailed exclusively online at Amazon.com. They were sold from April 2018 through January 2024 at prices ranging from $13 to $17. This recall stems from a violation of flammability standards for children's sleepwear, which poses the risk of burn injuries. Until now, no injuries have been reported.
Additionally, China's SIORO has expanded its recall of children's robes to include about 5,000 units, following a previous recall of around 950 robes in June 2021. This action was taken due to a potential burn hazard and violation of federal flammability standards. Manufactured in China, these items were exclusively available on Amazon.com from November 2021 through July 2023, priced between $20 and $27.
