Merck has announced its plans to acquire Unity-SC, a company specializing in metrology and inspection instrumentation for the semiconductor industry. The acquisition deal comprises an upfront payment of €155 million and additional milestone-based payments. Unity-SC operates out of Montbonnot-Saint-Martin, near Grenoble, France. Merck stated that this acquisition will enhance its portfolio with critical technologies essential for the progression of AI applications.
