This new patent, U.S. Patent No. 12,209,677, pertains to the company's next-generation balloon technology, which boasts enhanced valve precision. Issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office on January 15, the patent offers protection until July 2039. With this addition, Allurion now holds 20 patents in the U.S. and 59 worldwide.
The Allurion Program features a swallowable, non-surgical gastric balloon and the Allurion Virtual Care Suite, which includes a mobile app, a connected scale, and tools for healthcare providers. Patients utilizing this program typically experience a weight loss of 10-15 percent of their body mass, with the potential of increased muscle mass.
Currently, ALUR shares are trading at $2.695 on the New York Stock Exchange, reflecting an 8.02% decline.
