In March 2025, Australia's employment figures showed an increase of 32,200, bringing the total employment to 14.54 million, falling short of the anticipated 40,000 rise predicted by market analysts. This upturn occurred after a significant revised drop of 57,400 in February, which marked the first decline in nearly a year. Notably, full-time employment saw a boost of 15,000, reaching a four-month peak of 10.01 million, recovering from the previous month's decrease of 35,700. Similarly, part-time jobs increased by 17,200, totaling 4.53 million and counteracting the 13,700 drop seen in February. Looking at the annual perspective ending in March, total employment climbed by 308,000, marking a 2.2% growth rate, which slightly exceeds the 20-year pre-pandemic average growth of 2.0%.
