In March 2025, retail sales in Spain experienced a year-on-year increase of 3.6%, matching the growth rate from February. This rise was largely fueled by a 4.4% surge in food product sales. Sales of non-food items also saw an uptick, growing by 3.4%, with household equipment sales advancing 3.3% and a 3.2% increase in other goods. However, when adjusted for seasonal variations, retail trade marked a slight decline of 0.2% on a monthly basis, following a revised 1.3% rise in the preceding month. Over the first quarter of 2025, retail sales saw a 3.2% growth compared to the same timeframe in the previous year.
