Peru's GDP witnessed an annual growth of 2.67% in May 2025, a significant increase from the modest 1.4% growth observed in April, which was the slowest rate in nine months. This development represents the 14th consecutive period of economic expansion. Recovery was noted in several sectors, as agriculture expanded by 9.26% compared to a contraction of 7.53% in April, manufacturing grew by 2.44% versus a previous contraction of 2.86%, and construction increased by 6.04% following a 1.30% decline. Additionally, there was an acceleration in the growth of transportation (5.70% up from 4.84%), lodging and restaurants (5.07% up from 4.64%), and commerce (3.1% up from 2.83%). However, the mining and hydrocarbons sector experienced a downturn, contracting by 6.92% compared to an 8.55% growth in the previous period. Overall, the seasonally adjusted national production index increased slightly by 0.13% from the preceding month.
