In June 2025, Portugal experienced a 2.9% year-on-year increase in industrial production, a slight deceleration from the revised 3.0% growth seen in May. This uptick was largely attributed to a rebound in the production of consumer goods, which increased by 0.7% following a decrease of 0.8% in the previous month, as well as a significant boost in energy production, which surged by 20.0% compared to 18.0% in May. Conversely, output of intermediate goods fell by 0.6% after a rise of 0.6%, while the growth rate for capital goods slowed modestly to 1.5% from 1.7%. On a month-to-month basis, industrial output contracted by 3.6% in June, reversing the revised 2.2% gain recorded in May.
