Brazil's IBC-Br economic activity index, considered a crucial indicator of GDP performance, decreased by 0.5% in July 2025 compared to the previous month. This marks the third consecutive monthly decline, following a 0.1% reduction in June and exceeding market expectations, which predicted a 0.2% drop. During this period, agriculture and livestock output decreased by 0.8%, the industry saw a contraction of 1.1%, and the services sector dipped by 0.2%. The IBC-Br taxes index also fell, registering a 0.7% decline, while the index excluding agriculture diminished by 0.4%. However, when compared to July 2024, the overall index experienced a rise of 1.1%.
