FX.co ★ Poland Industrial Output Exceeds Forecasts

In August 2025, Poland experienced a 0.7% year-on-year increase in industrial output, outperforming market forecasts of a 0.3% rise. However, this growth represents a significant deceleration from the 3.0% gain observed in July, following an upward revision. Manufacturing growth slowed considerably to 1.1% from 3.6% in the preceding month, while output in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services also decreased, registering a growth of 1.5% compared to July's 3.1%. In contrast, the decline persisted in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply, which fell by 6.7% versus a 3.1% drop in the previous month. The downturn in mining and quarrying lessened, with a contraction of 2.1% compared to 5.9% earlier. On a month-to-month basis, industrial production experienced a sharp decline of 7.1% in August, reversing the prior month's upwardly revised 0.4% increase.
