The number of registered unemployed individuals in mainland France decreased by 11,700 to 3.022 million in August 2025, continuing to retract from the three-year high observed at the start of the year, yet remaining significantly above the lows recorded in 2023 and 2024. This monthly decline was primarily driven by a reduction in unemployment among core-aged individuals, which fell by 15,600 to 1.726 million, and by those aged over 50, which dropped by 10,000 to 789,000. Conversely, unemployment among those under 25 years of age increased, with a rise of 13,900 to 507,000.
