In August 2025, Russia's GDP increased by 0.4% compared to the same period last year, maintaining the growth rate observed in July, according to a report from the Economic Development Ministry on the nation's current economic landscape. The primary contributors to this growth included a boost in manufacturing output, which rose by 2.4% compared to 1.5% in July, as well as substantial gains in agriculture, which improved to 6.1% following a decline of 0.4%. Retail trade also witnessed an increase, climbing by 2.8% from 2.0%. However, construction output saw a minimal rise of just 0.1%, down from 3.3% previously, while industrial production saw a modest increment of 0.5%, down from a 0.7% increase in July. Overall, for the first eight months of the year, the economy experienced a 1.0% year-on-year growth, although monthly economic activity remained static.
