In the third quarter of 2025, China's industrial capacity utilization rate declined to 74.6 percent, compared to 75.1 percent during the same period in the previous year. This decrease was primarily attributed to a reduction in production within the mining sector, which saw a utilization drop from 74.6 percent in Q3 2024 to 72.5 percent, and in the manufacturing sector, where utilization fell to 74.8 percent from 75.2 percent. Conversely, the utilization rate for electricity, heat, gas, and water supply industries remained stable at 74.3 percent. When compared to the second quarter, there was an improvement in industrial capacity utilization, which rose by 0.6 percentage points to reach 74 percent. Across the first nine months of 2025, the average capacity utilization rate stood at 74.2 percent, reflecting a decrease of 0.4 percentage points from the same time frame in the previous year.
