The time was largely seen as unfavorable for purchasing durable goods, with a decline to -20.8 from -19.7, maintaining subdued spending intentions at 10.3 from 10.7. Plans to buy homes dropped significantly to -16.6 from -12.0. Furthermore, expectations regarding unemployment trends grew more pessimistic, worsening to -30.1 from -27.8, and the perceived personal risk of job loss rose to -17.1 from -12.4.
