In the September 2025 moving quarter, Brazil's unemployment rate remained constant at 5.6%, mirroring the previous period and staying close to the lows not seen since 2012. This figure was slightly higher than market projections, which anticipated a rate of 5.5%. The count of unemployed individuals remained at 6.0 million, marking the lowest in the recorded series, whereas total employment held steady at 102.4 million. Employment witnessed growth in sectors such as agriculture, livestock, forestry, fishing, and aquaculture (+260,000), and construction (+249,000). Conversely, it saw reductions in trade and vehicle repair (–274,000) and domestic services (–165,000). The rate of underutilization decreased to an all-time low of 13.9%, with the underutilized population dropping by 4.0% to 15.8 million. The informality rate stayed consistent at 37.8% (amounting to 38.7 million workers), and average real earnings remained unchanged at a record BRL 3,507.
