FX.co ★ Indonesia Tourist Arrivals Grow 12.33% YoY

In September 2025, Indonesia experienced a 12.33% year-on-year increase in foreign tourist arrivals, reaching 1.39 million visitors, slightly easing from a similar growth rate observed in the prior month. The major contributors to this rise included Malaysia, accounting for 16.19% of the arrivals, followed by Singapore at 11.47%, Japan with 6.06%, South Korea at 8.57%, Australia at 2.65%, and India contributing 1.65%. Conversely, declines were observed in arrivals from China, the United States, and the United Kingdom, with decreases of 0.87%, 0.86%, and 1.92%, respectively. Over the January to September period, total visitor numbers rose by 10.22%, amounting to 11.43 million. The government aims to attract 14 to 16 million foreign tourists this year, following a robust recovery in tourism last year, which saw a remarkable 19.1% increase to 13.9 million visitors, the highest since the pandemic and surpassing the target range of 9.5 to 14.3 million.
