FX.co ★ European Stocks Slide to Two-Week Low

European stocks experienced a downturn on Thursday, reversing previous gains achieved briefly the day before. Both the STOXX 50 and STOXX 600 indices declined by 0.3%, reaching two-week lows as investors analyzed a new wave of mixed corporate earnings reports. Shares in Commerzbank dropped by 2.5% after the bank unexpectedly announced a 7.9% year-over-year decline in net profit. Diageo shares decreased by 2.8% following a revision in its full-year outlook. Despite reporting positive results, Maersk saw its shares fall by 5.1%. On a positive note, DHL surged 5.4%, becoming one of the day's top performers, thanks to earnings growth achieved in spite of ongoing trade tensions. AstraZeneca saw a slight increase of 0.4% after announcing record quarterly revenue and maintaining its full-year guidance. Rheinmetall's shares edged up by 0.3% following a 20% rise in sales, while Sainsbury’s enjoyed a 1.4% increase in its share price after uplifting its outlook.
