FX.co ★ Costa Rica Records Sixth Month of Deflation

In October 2025, Costa Rica experienced a year-on-year decline in consumer prices by 0.38%, following a 1% dip observed in September. This marks the sixth consecutive month of deflation for the country. Significant price reductions were noted in sectors such as information and communication, which saw a 6.29% decrease, transportation with a 2.78% decline, clothing and footwear at 2.04% lower, and furniture and household articles, down by 1.68%. Conversely, there were price increases in areas including education, which rose by 4.12%, rent and utilities with a 1.13% uptick, and recreation, sports, and culture, increasing by 1.12%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up by 0.19%, recovering from a 0.4% decline seen in September.
