As of November 13, 2025, the average interest rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage has climbed to 6.24%, following a recent low of 6.17% at the beginning of October 2024, as reported by a lender survey conducted by Freddie Mac. "While the rates for both 30-year and 15-year fixed-rate mortgages remained relatively unchanged this week, there has been a boost in purchase activity, which is a positive sign," noted Sam Khater, the chief economist at Freddie Mac.
