Romania's gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 1.6% in the third quarter of 2025 when compared to the same period the previous year. This figure represents an acceleration from the 0.3% growth experienced in the prior quarter and surpasses market forecasts, which anticipated a 1% increase, according to preliminary estimates. Notably, this marks the eighteenth consecutive period of economic expansion. However, on a seasonally adjusted quarterly basis, the economy shrank by 0.2%, a shift from the revised 1% growth observed in the preceding quarter.
