FX.co ★ Bulgaria Q3 GDP Growth Hits 1-Year Low

In the third quarter of 2025, the Bulgarian economy expanded by 3.2% compared to the same period the previous year, showing a slight deceleration from the 3.4% growth recorded in the second quarter. Preliminary estimates identify this as the slowest economic growth since the third quarter of 2024, largely attributed to the impact of net external demand on the country's GDP. Exports saw a more significant decline, falling by 9.2%, compared to a 5.6% drop in the previous quarter, while imports rose sharply, increasing by 2.2% versus 0.4% in the second quarter. Contrarily, there was acceleration in final consumption, rising to 9.5% from 8.9%, and in gross fixed capital formation, which grew to 9.2% from 8.9%. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the Bulgarian economy advanced by 0.7% in the third quarter of 2025, which marks a slight decrease compared to the 0.9% growth in the preceding quarter.
