The seasonally adjusted BusinessNZ Performance of Composite Index in New Zealand increased to 50.2 in October 2025 from a slightly revised 49.1 in September, achieving its highest level since July. Manufacturing activity experienced growth for the fourth month in a row, marking only the second such occurrence in three years. Meanwhile, the service sector continued its contraction for the 20th consecutive month. Overall output saw its first increase in three months, bolstered by a fifth straight monthly climb in new orders. The rate of employment decline has decelerated, inventories dropped following an increase in September, and deliveries remained largely stable.
