U.S. stock futures experienced minor fluctuations on Tuesday, following a robust session for the S&P 500 and Nasdaq on the previous day. Investors were considering corporate developments while processing mixed economic indicators. Retail sales numbers fell short of expectations, suggesting a more pronounced slowdown in consumer spending, whereas the weekly ADP report indicated that U.S. companies were shedding an average of 13,500 jobs per week over the four weeks ending November 8th. Conversely, producer inflation saw an uptick in September. Market expectations for a 25 basis point interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve next month remain high, with current probabilities at around 85%, a substantial increase from a week earlier. In pre-market activity, Nvidia shares declined by 4.8% amid reports that Meta is in discussions to invest significantly in Google’s AI chips. AMD also saw a decrease of 7.1%. Contrarily, Alphabet's stock rose by 4%, and Meta gained 1.8%. Meanwhile, Kohl's experienced a surge of over 27% after revising its full-year comparable sales forecast upwards.
