According to a survey conducted by mortgage giant Freddie Mac, the average rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage dropped to 6.23% as of November 26, 2025. "As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, there has been a decrease in mortgage rates. With pending home sales reaching their highest point since last November, homebuyer activity remains resilient as we near the end of the year," stated Sam Khater, Chief Economist at Freddie Mac.
