Retail sales in Argentina saw an 18.9% increase in September 2025, compared to the same month the previous year, a decrease from the 25.1% rise reported in August. The majority of retail sectors experienced a slowdown, including clothing, footwear, and leather goods (8.8% compared to 14.8% in August), electronics and IT (4.0% against 12.9%), bookstores and stationery (18.8% versus 25.3%), pharmacies and perfumeries (20.0% as opposed to 27.8%), toys (27.3% compared to 37.9%), and food courts and restaurants (41.8% compared to 51.1%). In contrast, leisure and recreation saw an acceleration (130.3% up from 64.7%). Adjusted for constant prices, retail sales declined by 3.4% on a year-on-year basis, worsening from the 1.9% decline observed in August.
