In October 2025, Slovenia's trade deficit decreased notably to EUR 424.6 million, a marked improvement from EUR 3,175.8 million recorded in the same month the previous year. This improvement was driven by a 0.8% annual increase in exports, reaching EUR 5,891.3 million, supported by higher sales to both EU countries (up 1.3%) and non-EU countries (up 0.3%). Conversely, imports saw a sharp decline of 30%, amounting to EUR 6,315.9 million, primarily due to a substantial reduction in purchases from non-EU countries, which plummeted by 45.4%, while imports from EU countries rose by 3.4%. Between January and October, Slovenia reported a trade surplus of EUR 2,060.7 million, a noteworthy turnaround from a deficit of EUR 6,421 million during the same period the previous year.
