In November 2025, Japan experienced a 14.2% increase in machine tool orders compared to the previous year, reaching JPY 136,291. This represents a deceleration from October's 16.8% rise, which was the highest growth observed in the past seven months. On the domestic front, demand decreased by 8.1% year-on-year to JPY 31,537. In contrast, international orders saw a 23.2% increase, totaling JPY 104,754. Cumulatively for the year, total machine tool orders expanded by 7.7% compared to the same period last year, reaching JPY 1,444,962. This growth was driven by an 11.1% rise in foreign demand, while domestic demand slightly contracted by 0.3%.
