In October 2025, manufacturing output in the UK increased by 0.5% compared to the previous month, recovering from a 1.7% decrease in September but falling short of the anticipated 1.0% rise. This recovery was primarily fueled by growth in six out of thirteen manufacturing subsectors. Notably, the manufacture of transport equipment experienced a 3.6% increase, supported by a notable 9.5% growth in motor vehicles, along with improvements in machinery production by 4.4% and other manufacturing and repair activities by 2.8%. However, on an annual basis, manufacturing activity saw a decline of 0.8% in October, which marks an improvement from the 2.2% drop in September, yet it did not meet market expectations of a 0.1% decrease.
