Hungary's construction output experienced a 9.7% year-on-year increase in October 2025, a deceleration from the previous month's impressive 17.6% growth, which had been the most significant rise since February 2022. The expansion in civil engineering works significantly slowed to 3.7%, down from a peak of 17.1% in September. Similarly, building construction growth eased to 14.7% from nearly reaching a two-year high of 18.3%. On a seasonally adjusted month-to-month basis, construction output declined by 1.9% in October, contrasting with the substantial 16.4% increase in the prior month. Overall, for the January to October period, Hungary’s construction sector saw a 2.5% increase in activity.
