This represents a slowdown from a slightly revised 4.9% in the previous period, though it surpassed market forecasts of 4.4%. Wage growth in the private sector declined to 4.0% from 4.4%, the slowest rate since the December 2020–February 2021 period. On the other hand, public sector wages grew at a 7.7% rate, the fastest since July–September 2023, following a 6.8% increase.
