Slovenia’s unemployment rate rose to 4.8% in December 2025, up from 4.6% in both October and November, reaching its highest level since February. The number of unemployed persons increased by 1,381 on a monthly basis, bringing the total to 47,177, of whom 24,574 were men and 22,603 were women.
By age group, the unemployment rate stood at 7.7% for those aged 15–29, 4.8% for people aged 50 and over, and 5.8% for those aged 55 and above. For comparison, the jobless rate was also 4.8% in December of the previous year.
Employers reported 9,489 job vacancies in December, a decrease of 3.3% year-on-year. Over the full year, they advertised 157,803 vacancies, slightly higher than the 157,384 recorded in the same period a year earlier.
