FX.co ★ Chile Retail Sales Growth Slows in January

Retail sales in Chile rose 3.7% year-on-year in January 2026, the slowest growth rate in nine months and down from a downwardly revised 4.4% increase in December 2025. The expansion was mainly supported by higher sales of food (4.7%), clothing, footwear and accessories (5.6%), and other consumer goods (5.0%). On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, retail sales slipped 0.2% in January, reversing the 0.2% gain recorded in December.
