ANZ-Indeed Australian Job Ads rose 3.2% month-on-month in January 2025, easing from a revised 5.2% increase in December. While the pace of growth slowed, it marked the first consecutive monthly gains since October 2024, pushing ads to their highest level since that time. Indeed senior economist Callam Pickering noted that the New Year has brought a stronger nationwide appetite for hiring. In February, job ads for nurses rose to their highest level in nearly two years, while management positions reached their strongest level since September 2023. Vacancies also increased solidly in retail and administration, indicating broad-based labour demand. Growth was evident across most mainland states, though Tasmania lagged behind. New South Wales posted the largest increase, followed by Western Australia and Queensland.
