New car sales in Brazil increased 8.6% month-over-month in February 2026, reaching 185,200 units. Average daily registrations rose to 10,300 vehicles, the second-highest February level in the past decade. Passenger car sales climbed 12.3% to 140,600 units, truck sales expanded 3.3% to 6,700 units, and bus sales advanced 10.7% to 1,306 units. In contrast, light commercial vehicle sales fell 3% to 36,600 units. On a year-over-year basis, total registrations inched up 0.1%, indicating only modest annual growth despite strong monthly momentum and resilient consumer demand in a high interest rate environment.
